La Table du Lavoir
La Table du Lavoir serves delicious, unusual, bistro-style food with the finest seasonal products. In the center of the room, the wash house, that has since been rebuilt stone by stone, pay tribute to the winegrower’s wives who used to come here to do the washing in the 19th century. The roof structure was built with 18th century beams recovered from cellars at Château Lafite-Rothschild, and the glass door can be opened, weather permitting to enjoy meals on the covered terrace. Meat roasting in the huge period fireplace releases delicious smells while clients read menus written on antique laundry beaters. The unmatched cutlery, purchased by weight, sits atop traditional and antique tablecloths.
